Have you ever told yourself that you were setting a boundary to protect yourself from someone or something when you were actually simply avoiding the situation? If you decide to avoid someone, it’s totally okay. Just make sure that when you are avoiding a situation like this, that you feel good about it. You are not avoiding from a place of anger, resentment, or resistance. It’s okay to decide that you don’t want to spend your time with someone. It may be an acquaintance, a former friend, or even a family member. My point for this podcast is to help you understand the difference between avoiding something and setting a healthy boundary.
